EGG CELEBRATION DAY!

Once a year, all of Tri honors Egg Celebration Day! Warring factions take a break for the day, schools are closed, and everyone tries to enjoy their life in peace and, well, celebration!

The common practice among the natives of Tri is to gather friends and family and eat, break, or hatch eggs! Eggs of all kinds, even from other worlds and dimensions! There's also encouragement to dress up as bunnygirls or bunnyboys, in honor of the memory of the fight against the evil witch’s curse and the bunnygirl's triumph! Games of catch the bunny or find the egg are common among children or those young at heart. Eggs will often have all kinds of things inside of them, toys, animals, people, and even magical events, curses, or blessings! One never knows what they’ll get when they open an egg on this day!

THE LEGEND!

Rumors and myths say that once upon a time there was a bunnygirl named Ester. Ester lived in the magical continent of Distant Oceans, and spent here days wandering amidst the Enchanted Forest, speaking and communing with the animals therein. Hers was a blessed life, one of love for her fellow creatures. In this same forest was a witch named Silvae.

Silvae had grown up persecuted for her terrible choice in fashion, often wearing wildly colored and inappropriate outfits to dinners and social gatherings. Even the animals who didn't wear clothes would mock her! Because of this, she grew into a wicked crone, hating anyone who got along with others.

One day, she saw Ester in the forest, talking with some little trash pandas. Soon, some stab rabbits, cat snakes, nope ropes, and spiky floofs showed up to join her. They danced, laughed, and wore whatever they want without ridicule.

Silvae was overcome with rage and jealousy, and immediately summoned her magic, cursing Ester, whose clothing changed into the outrageously bizarre outfits Silvae preferred to wear. The animals all laughed, ridiculing the bunnygirl! Ester cried and fled, hurt by the scorn of her friends. But the curse didn’t end there.

Ester started laying eggs! Egg after egg after egg! She couldn’t stop, and soon the entire forest was filled with bunnygirl eggs. Eggs in the trees, the bushes, in dens and nests! Eggs in the river, in the swamp, and sometimes floating in the air! “I’m cursed!” Ester said, and fled the Enchanted Forest.

But all was not lost, Ester came to the kingdom of Valis, where a great famine was sweeping the land. Farmers crops had dried up, and the people were starving. Seeking shelter at an inn, she was offered a job as a waitress in exchange for her stay.

“But what of my outfit?” Ester said to the innkeep.
“Ha ha ha,” the innkeep said, “That and your looks are why I’m hiring you! You’ll draw customers in by the droves!”
Ester wasn’t overly fond of the misogyny, but she needed a place to sleep.
“Okay!” Ester said, and laid an egg!
“Did you just lay an egg?” the innkeep said.
“Yes, I’m cursed by the wicked witch of the Enchanted Forest to lay eggs of all shapes, kinds, and sizes!” Surely she’d be kicked out now, for who wanted a bunnygirl laying eggs everywhere?
The innkeeper laughed, took the egg, and cracked it out, making an omelet on the spot! “This is magical! With this, you could feed the whole kingdom!”

And so she did! Ester laid eggs and fed the poor, the needy, and impoverished! She eventually left the inn, traveling the continents and feeding everyone across Tri! Well, except for Synthatek, where her curse was temporarily altered, so the bunnygirl setup an egg visa exchange, but that’s another story.

Eventually, Ester returned to the Enchanted Forest. Her animal friends had heard the rumors of her helping the world, and greeted her with open claws, commenting on how lovely her clothes were, how wrong they were about them, and how delicious her eggs tasted, and she lived happily ever after.

However, rumors persist that to this day, Silvae wanders the continents and Enchanted Forest, seeking out those who deny new fashion trends or mock oddly dressed crones, cursing them to wear what they hate, and lay eggs for the rest of their lives! The only way to be safe? Hatch, eat, or break an egg on Egg Celebration Day, or at least dress up like a bunnygirl.
