Continent Specific Rules

Each continent has specific natural laws where only certain things work. Crossing the halfway point on the bridges that lead over the Raging are where the effects change. What counts as magic, tech, or neither? A general rule of thumb is, if you have to ask, it counts as what you're thinking of and won't work on the eastern or western continent. If you can't figure it out, feel free to ask staff or email trimucklegends@gmail.com For more information and specific examples you can see our Questions & Answers

Western Continent: Sythatek

Only technology works and functions on the western continent.

Below are some examples of magic, this is not an expansive list, and there are likely many other things that count as magic.

  • Spells
  • Magical telepathy
  • Senshi powers

Center Continent: Senta

Everything works in the center continent. Magic, tech, chi, ki, psychic energies, you name it, it works. That being said, a lot of things that count as neither tech or magic only work on the center continent.

Below are some examples of neither magic or tech, this is not an expansive list, and there are likely many other things that count.

  • Mutant powers
  • Psychic powers
  • Magitech
  • Anything combining magic and technology to work
  • Chakra, chi, ki, and similar things as those.

Eastern Continent: Distant Oceans

Only magic works and functions on the eastern continent.

Below are some examples of technology, this is not an expansive list, and there are likely many other things that count as technology.

  • Anything powered by electricity
  • Anything whose origin is from tech a.k.a. growing an organic ship still counts as technology
  • Batteries

Characters

You can't play as a character already on the muck, so please check our userlist before creating your own. Please take other players into consideration when creating a character. If your character is going to be a rude, overpowered, loner then you're probably not going to get to participate in much.

Non-staff members are held at a 5 character limit on our game. If you want an additional character, you need to sacrifice one of your current characters first. Canon characters have a 30 day RP idle rule. If you haven't RP'd with a canon character for 30 days or more, another player can app for it and it'll be taken from you, so don't app a canon character you won't play regularly. Just logging in doesn't count, you have to actually RP with them. Common name original characters count for this as well.

Canon Characters

Canon characters are those from a pre-existing specific series, EL Hazard, Naruto, Sword Art online, etc. We don't force your character to adhere to their canon material, but it's good practice to check with other characters from your series that already exist on the game to see if things will work out the way you're thinking.

Canon characters can be adapted to fit in the native setting of TRI, being from the world rather than arriving through a dimensional portal. Parts of TRI are pulled from existing anime sources, and we're always welcome to suggestions for expansion or creation of new areas. However, the grid won't be rearranged just so your character can have all their series stuff around them. Look at the grid first and find a place where things would more or less work for your character to have existed there. For instance, Sword Art Online characters could easily have always existed in either Center City or Synthatek. Characters from The Slayers could have always lived in Distant Oceans, etc. The continents are massive and have lots of room on them for various kingdoms, cities, mountains, etc.

Original Characters

Any character you've made up is an original character. Please remember to control yourself with giving them powers and abilities that are naturally overpowered and will cause problems for other players. Twinking, powergaming, etc. are bannable offenses, and there is a very low tolerance for it on TRI because of the ease of getting character approval. Have fun, place nice, respect others, and obey the rules and all will have fun!

Character Death

TRI can be a dangerous place, with dangerous entities. If you're playing a character that is naturally antagonistic and is likely to kill people, you're required to inform players out of character before interacting with them in a situation where this may occur so they are aware. This doesn't mean making them aware allows you to kill them, death blows must always be discussed out of character or in a private page before they happen, and a way out needs to be created if the player doesn't want their character to die. Most people don't want their character's murdered, so expect a whole lot of no's. That's not saying villains are prohibited in any way, but just keep in mind not everyone wants to be a punching bag.

If you do die, there's still hope to come back to life! Visit the I_Died,_Now_What? page to find information about our afterlife realms! It could be a grand adventure for your fellow players to revive you, or maybe you become a ghost! Or perhaps you end up in an afterlife of some kind, and a deal must be struck for you to return to life? Get creative! If you want to ask about ways to come back to life, email trimucklegends@gmail.com and we'll help you out, and you might even get some good RP in from it!

Free Form Consent RP

TRI is a Consent-Based RP game. So nothing happens unless everyone involved agrees with it. However, that's cutting things a little short. Your characters don't have health. They don't have stats. As long as you play your characters accurately and you don't powergame other players you're mostly free to do whatever. Take whatever action is appropriate. However, if that action is to do something another player objects to - that's where the term "consent-based" comes from.

Basically there is always a way out. If someone puts a gun to your character's head and you're not comfortable with them dying, pose something happening. You knock the gun away. Someone comes in and saves you. Or simply just leave the scene. No one is going to make you take an action you don't approve of outside of specific situations (participating in larger plots, for example).

But as always though, if something happens and the parties involved can't agree on something - please reach out to staff or email trimucklegends@gmail.com with a log and explanation of what occurred.

Twinking, Powergaming, Powers, Immortality, Invincibility, etc.

Any situation in which a character goes against it’s established limitations without just cause, anytime a character illogically avoids any negative repercussions in a scene, anytime a pose becomes one-sided with no possibility for another character to fairly react to it, or whenever a characters uses knowledge they can’t possibly have learned on their own is defined as Twinking. We do not allow this. Should one of these situations occur and the players can't resolve it on their own, staff should be notified immediately to deal with the situation. Always log the problem and email it to trimucklegends@gmail.com along with an explanation of what occurred.

If a character is created with god-like powers and/or abilities (immortality, invincibility, being indestructible, etc…) and uses it in an abusive way that causes multiple problems to other players, they'll be removed from the game. Please log the occurrence and email it to trimucklegends@gmail.com with an explanation of what occurred.

If your character has powers, abilities, or anything special about them, remember they will not always work depending on what continent you're on. An android crossing the bridge from Center City to Distant Oceans will find themselves shutdown upon reaching the halfway point across the bridge. Likewise, a magical ethereal being of fire walking from Center City to Synthatek may just all together stop existing at the halfway point. Be mindful and stay informed of how the physical laws work on each continent, and role play their effects appropriately.

Logging

Please always log your RP sessions. While you don't have to post them, it's a good idea to have them handy. Also, if your canon character is called in to question, it's good to have a set of logs to prove you have been active with that character. Furthermore, having a log can help to resolve conflicts, complaints, and other problems that may arise.

For more information about logging please see How_To_Post_Logs for further instructions and details.

Sex, TS, Etc

No underage sex scenes (TS). We don't endorse players RPing out sex scenes. If it does happen, it must be kept private. Don't talk about it on channels or out in public. This game is restricted to players 18 and over. If you are under the age of 18 you can't play here. If you find yourself in a situation you are uncomfortable with, leave the scene. If you feel it was a violation of the games rules, log the incident and email it and an explanation to trimucklegends@gmail.com.
