Another day of wandering for one young woman with sullen eyes. X23 entered the bar with her usual haggard look of annoyance, complemented by her equally usual goth/grudge attire; a black crop top, jeans, choker, fingerless gloves and combat boots. She looked around at first to see if she recognized anyone, and with no familiar face around she simply hopped on one of the stools near the bar counter, leaning forward and resting her elbows there with a sigh.

Have the gremlins returned to the electronics of the Usual? No, it's just one of the 'local' AI finding her way into the network. NeoViral's somewhat daemonic avatar replacing one of the holograms on display, wings wrapped around herself. "Whatever I did to earn the ire of the sysadmin I'm sorry. Not usually that hard to connect..."

X23's interaction with technology had been limited ever since her arrival to the city. As some of the denizens had discovered she didn't even know what a phone was until recently. Thus, the shifting of one of the holograms into a more demonic appearance startled her. "Que rayos!?" The girl cursed in some less known language and backed up from the hologram, even so far as jumping out of her stool and going back to her feet. She faced towards it curiously, but didn't do anything other than simply stare and perhaps brace herself for the possibility of combat. The hologram didn't look particularly friendly after all.

NeoViral waves around her emerald tail, sticking her arms out of her wing-cloak. "Whoa, easy now. I come in peace, and from the 'net." Not that she can do much, being well, a hologram. She weightlessly drifts out of the hologram frame, using the projector as a focal point. "Didn't mean to scare anyone, though I didn't think anyone was here. Should have checked the cams first."

Ah, the universal sign of surrendering, that much was easy to understand for even the still very much wild child self of X23. Watching the strange looking hologram raise her arms up and wave her tail made her relax slightly, even if she was unsure if she could even do anything to a seemingly non-tangible person. Or maybe she was a bit corporeal, her apparent worry that X23 might hurt her made the girl think so. Either way, with no apparent threat, X23 backed up slightly giving the hologram some room to step out of her frame. "Hm, it's fine." She said, not entirely too convincingly. "You're from.. that techie continent, I take it? Synthatek?"

"Kind of. I've made my home there for now, though I can't exactly say I'm fond of the management." NeoViral sighs. "But that's something else entirely. I can't say I've ever seen you around here before." She says, looking over the organic one. "NeoViral. The closest thing to 'in the flesh' as it were."

"A lot of people don't seem to be." The young woman pursed her lips in slight, amused surprise at the comment of Big Sister. It seemed everyone that she had talked to thus far wasn't fond of the governing AI of Synthatek. Though indeed, it was hardly the time to discuss politics. "Laura.." Said the young woman as NeoViral introduced herself. "Yeah, I... am kind of new to the city. Got here a few months ago."

NeoViral unfurls her wings, folding them behind her. "That would explain it. How did you get here? if you don't mind me asking." The hologram flickers as she pulls up something in the background. <Oh, come on, the file isn't that big.>

While Laura didn't outright say it, by the way she sullenly looked at NeoViral, she did in fact mind her asking. It wasn't NeoViral's fault for prying into her personal affairs, of course, Laura realized it was a perfectly reasonable question and didn't get too terribly upset. But she nonetheless bristled, almost like a cat, shoulders tensing and her jaw clenching slightly. "It's not something I like to talk about." She said in the end, before she went and hopped back on a bar stool, though this time facing NeoViral. "Suffice to say I had a shitty life in the Badlands and now I'm here in the city trying to start over."

NeoViral may be totally digital now, but she was human once. The bristling at the question was enough for the daemon to understand. "I see. Sorry I asked." She sits herself on thin air. "What do you think of the city itself?"

Laura gave a shrug and a shake of her head before resting her elbows back on her knees. "It's fine, you didn't know." At NeoViral's next question, the girl stared outwards with raised eyebrows, seemingly struggling to find an answer. "Honestly...? Kind of boring." She confessed. "I'm struggling to find a job, and there's so much red tape here it's hard for me to find anything that's legit. Though it doesn't help I don't have many skills outside of doing menial labor like retail." She huffed. "I have something lined up but I have to wait for someone's approval before even getting an interview apparently-again- lots of red tape."

"That sounds like city life." Neovira says with a nod. "Though here trouble won't find you unless you look for it. Not like some other places I've been. Though it's not as bad as Denver."

Laura gave NeoViral a bit of an odd look, her eyes narrowed and lips tightened slightly, almost as if implying that she didn't believe her. "You say that.." She said glancing at the hologram somewhat suspiciously. "And yet I have a friend that is apparently getting harassed by some gangers, and she's really not the type that mixes up with those things." Laura frowned slightly. "Do you know if there are a lot of gangs or criminal activity in general around here?" The way she said it made her sound like she was almost hopeful there was.

NeoViral makes a so-so gesture with her hand. "I 'm probably a little more used to random ganger harassment than most, having come from Seattle. Barrens were lousy with em, so not getting harassed on a daily basis... Though just from my spiders, I can tell you if you really want to go looking..." She pulls out a holographic map, well spotted with criminal activity. "You could say there's more than meets the eye."

"Really?" Laura looked quite surprised at that revelation. "You got harassed by gangers?" She gave NeoViral a look over. "Must have been pretty brave, you don't look very helpless. Not to mention I'm still not entirely sure I could even touch you." Laura was clearly under the impression that NeoViral had always been some kind of demonic looking hologram. "Let's say I'm interested in knowing just to.. keep my options open." She said about her offer, standing up again from her stool and taking a closer look at NeoViral's holographic map.

"Well, unless you're in VR, probably not." Neoviral says on the topic of her tangibility. "Yeah, I come from a world that's... lets say less than pleasant. Some tried to get crafty." She makes the map slightly bigger for clarification. "I have no love for them myself, if you want to have some fun, be my guest."

Laura arched an inquisitive eyebrow. She still didn't seem to get it but that was hardly important now that she was getting some juicy information. She took out a notepad and hurriedly scribbled the places that seemed teeming with criminal activity, a somewhat malicious smirk starting to show on her face. "Gracias, gracias.." She gave the holographic woman a grin before she pocketed her notepad and pen. "Maybe this city will be fun after all. I'll uh.. check them out."
