History:
Yunie was a secret project created by Syntha Tech. A secret organization on a distant planet ( distant from earth that is ). Yunie was designed as the perfect interface between man and machine, or in this case girl and machine. The techs at Syntha decided early on that it would be a small female, thereby less threatening and more than likely acceptable by the general populace of their world. Yunie was built using the greatest technologies upon the planet, combining machine components with normal flesh perfectly. The experiment went well and Yunie was born.
Starting as a baby the people at Syntha found that their experiment was a complete success, not only did Yunie look human, she acted it as well. It was more than they had hoped for, expecting to get simply a mindless machine with no personality. As Yunie grew so did her skills and knowledge, her body was able to adapt itself to any type of mechanical device and meld with it. When Yunie's body reached the age of about nine and a half, the technicians stopped her growth process permanently leaving her in the everlasting body of a ten year old; Yunie was not informed of this.
After a time ( about a year ) Yunie began tapping into the higher security of Syntha Tech to learn more about herself, this is where she found that her growth process had been stopped, and she was in truth to the technician's, not a living soul, but simply a guinea pig...a prototype for future models. A bit upset at this, Yunie plotted her escape, which was simple once she thought about it. Around midnight, she walked over to her terminal and began changing high level passwords and bypassing all security cameras. Succeeding in this easily, Yunie made her way down the hallways, taking time to look at everything in detail ( she had mostly been kept in only a few rooms and not allowed outside ). She made her way to a hanger bay and set off an alarm in the deeper corridors taking away the security from that area. She then went over, placed her hand on one of the ships activating it. She hopped in, and plotted a random destination...she wasn't gonna be these jerks test subject anymore. The ship take's off with its 'high level security clearance' and left the planet behind, Yunie forever safe from Syntha.

Ten Years Later...

After the failure with their first model, Syntha Tech nearly went under. The orbital space station Syntha Tech was based one was about to close down permanently, having all of their funding shut off from the planet below after discovering their failure. However, a military organization known as The Core intervened before Syntha Tech could be shutdown. They offered Syntha a deal. They begin they're research and development anew under their suprvision. Syntha had little choice but to accept the offer and began working on a new model of the Yunie prototype. The prior Yunie having never been recovered and was recorded as lost forever in the records.
Syntha Tech began to work once again, this time setting in new modifiers to the Yunie module in order to make her more obedient. And so, Yunie 2.0 was created, a new revolution in Syntha Tech breakthroughs, Yunie 2.0 had all the same defining abilitys as her prior model. The Core was not content with this however, and ordered Syntha to introduce new combat elements to the unit. Though unhappy with the thought of their new model to be used in wars and battles, Syntha Tech had little choice but to obey their saviours.
The Yunie 2.0 model was allowed to grow to the age of fifteen before her growth inhibitor program was installed, thus stopping her growth permanently. Of course, by this time Yunie had become aware of all the things going on about the space station, she'd been tapping into computer records as the Yunie before her had, therefore she was aware of all the actions the scientists were taking in raising her, along with The Core prodding her towards more of a war machine.
And so, the day finally came when Syntha Tech informed The Core that they had finished their work on Yunie 2.0 and she was now able to be released to the public. The Core had other ideas however. After taking the data on how the unit was to be created and other technical research data, The Core launched on all out assault upon the Space Station while the entire crew of Syntha Tech was onboard, thus destroying any possibility of more Yunie 2.0's arising. After all, a monopoly on what could possibly be the best mechanical interface every devised was something that should only be in The Core's hands and no others.
Alas, the assault did not go as planned. Halfway through the attack, the scientists free'd Yunie 2.0 of her laboratory and gave her access to a ship. Breaking free of the space stations hangar bay and taking off into space, Yunie left the Syntha Tech space station in the hands of The Core. Hoping that the scientists, who she never truly considered friends, but neither did she think of them as enemies, would be all right. To assure this, Yunie sent a comminique off to The Core, informing them that a vital piece of data was left out of the information dump sent to them, and that she was the only one in possession of it. Setting a random course, she set off into space before The Core had time to react, deciding to try and perhaps locate the earlier model of herself...or at least, find a nice out of the way planet to start a life on. Afterall, it wasn't like she had anything better to do.
